Issue: Did a school employee may have used their
position to benefit a future family member?
Update: On Monday, we had our follow up meeting
with the district about the Principal / PTO issue. PTO
Executive President Cindy Dehne, DCSpost.com Representative
Rob Talbot, Superintendent Wilkinson and School Board
President Greg Cwayna were there. We wanted to look
into the issue at hand, what policies were at play and
what new policies might be needed. Some very interesting
points came up. ... Read

Creek Schools Facilities Use Requests Policy Questioned >> |
August 28, 2006
Parent Post: In your article entitled "School
Board Denies Facilities Use Request" you state that
"...the school board did not want the school to be involved
with any political process that could influence the help the
school would receive from elected officials." Does that
statement make any sense at all?... And here's a little tidbit
for your pipe: Did you know that anyone (and I mean literally
anyone) can request use of any Edmond school facility or any
part of any Edmond school facility? There is a very brief and
painless ... Read
Entire Parent Post >>
Our Reply: The school does have a policy. All events
must be approved by the school board. Make sure to plan far
enough ahead to so that you have time to get school board
approval. We believe requests need to be submitted 7 days
before the next school board meeting; but, please double check
this number with the school administration building before
making plans. Remember to plan far enough ahead in case the
school board denies ... Read

Parent Post: I noticed that the final cost on the

Our Reply: Thank you for your post and supplying

Parent Post: If you are a taxpayer, this letter is directed to you.
True, it may not directly apply to many of you, but it is very much about you. You see, as a taxpayer, whose money supports the public education system in Oklahoma, you are an accomplice to a crime you didn’t even know was being committed: the fleecing of special education. Perhaps that may not be a crime that is written in any law book, but still very much a crime of indecency indeed ... Read

March 3 , 2008
Parent Post: After moving into the district from the rapidly-deteriorating Putnam City district (GASP...we are DC transplants!) the illusion of a "Deer Creek" education was quickly revealed. | I weighed my son's backpack tonight >> |
January 15 , 2008
Parent Post: Regarding the heavy backpacks issue, my son is at the HS and he does not/can not use his locker at all. He goes from one building to the other, every single class all day long. (east, west, east, west, etc) He carries everything all day every day and his locker is completely empty. If the school would allow us to purchase the books, like we did in college, I would GLADLY purchase a set of books for my son to have at home. Then offer a book sale the last week of school and allow the parents of the next class to buy the books. Something is going to have to give since the HS is in so many separate buildings.
In regards to the Senior who says this is not a problem, I would like to know where his/her classes are ... Read
