Background

• 46 years old.
• Graduated from Putnam West High School in 1978.
• Graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1988.
• Combat Veteran from the PersianGulf War in 1991.

Family

• I am married and have 2 children.
• My daughter Emma is in first grade ad my son Gabriel is in third grade.
• They attend Rose Union Elementary.

Business

• Small Business Owner.
• The company is named ProSpect
• I have had the business for over 10 years
• I perform commercial and residential real estate inspections.

Summary

I’m quite active as a volunteer at the school and I coach most of my children’s sports teams. I am currently coaching an 8 and under basketball team for Deer Creek boys. I am on the Satellite Athletic Association board and have been for over 12 years helping young children develop physical mental and social skills. My wife and I are very active in our church and volunteer on a regular basis in the children’s department.

My belief is that ultimately the school board is serving the children and directing plans for a well rounded efficient system to serve them in a positive environment. This can only be done by spending quality time at the schools, talking to parents, students, teachers, and administration and learning from other school districts that have experienced growing pains similar to the ones we are encountering.

Most people have moved to the Deer Creek school district simply for a quality education for their children. Simply stated but it takes work to achieve this goal. We have only one chance to perform this task with every child. The only way that can be done is by working HARD together. Recognizing that we will not agree on everything but we should weigh every idea on its own merits and ultimately make the decision based on what’s best for the children present and future.

Why am I running for School Board?

The answer to me is simple.

• I know how to run a business
• I have a construction background that will help with all the infrastructure issues.
• I have excellent interpersonal skills and have studied personality traits extensively so that I may communicate well with different types of people.
• I love children and I want them to have the best we can offer which, by the way is a lot. This district has some of the brightest and most successful people in the world. We should draw from these resources to continue the excellence.
• I do have enough time to put in to help the district.
