Taken from Toni Jones' email to the Deer Creek Middle School
Dear Families,
I want to update you on how the district will be honoring Mr. Miles Jenkins. One of the High School history teachers (Mr. Willie) had a wonderful suggestion to set up a history scholarhip in Mr. Jenkin's name. Mrs. Jenkins has given us her support and she was very touched by this opportunity for all of us to say "thank you" for 33 wonderful years. So, in lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation in his memory. Donations to this fund are in memory of Mr. Jenkins and are tax deductible. You will receive a gift receipt in the mail. A list of contributors will also be sent to his family. The funds from these gifts will be used to fund a scholarship for a Deer Creek student with an interest in history.
You may send contributions to:

**Important**
Put "Miles Jenkins Scholarship" in the check memo line.
Thank you for helping us honor a brilliant man, master storyteller, and dedicated teacher who has touched the lives of students for more than three decades.
Mrs. Jones, Principal

We extend our condolences to the Jenkins family with the passing of Mr. Jenkins this weekend. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Note From Tony Jones to Middle School Parents
We are sad to write that Mr. Jenkins passes away early Sunday morning due to unforeseen circumstances. Please know that we will have counselors available for students if they request it. It was Mr. Jenkins wishes that there not be a funeral or memorial service held. In honor of Mr. Jenkins, we will make an effort to focus on the positive contributions he made to the students, staff, and friends at Deer Creek in his more than 30 years in the district. There will be a segment of our wall in the front hall dedicated to Mr. Jenkins on Monday and Tuesday where students, friends, and colleagues can post notes and momentums in celebration of his life. On Wednesday the notes and momentums will be delivered to his wife.
Sincerely,
Toni Jones
