DCS Post Celebrates its 6 Month Anniversary >>

October 19, 2006

The DCS Post celebrates its six month anniversary. What started as helping a friend has turned into a communication tool for a community. This month the DCSPost.com surpassed the 10,000 visitor mark. Never in our wildest dreams did we think that the DCS Post would have evolved into what it is today.

Some of the highlights have been:

  1. Sponsored a 2006 County Commissioners Candidate Forum.
  2. Helped facilitate the safety changes at Prairie Vale.
  3. Helped provided publicity for fundraising and school events
  4. Helped clarify the issues surrounding the Greenhouse at Prairie Vale
  5. Disseminated the truth about issues when the School District would not
  6. Forced the School District to improve communication with Patrons
  7. Was one of the avenues that helped the Parents of Special Needs Children Support Group form

Now we know everything hasn’t been positive and we have made some mistakes along the way. It was satisfying recently when an individual who in the beginning disapproved of the site, recently thanked us for what we are doing.

On an aside, within the last week, several posts were submitted concerning differences with teachers. We want to reiterate that we do not post any issues with teachers. If you have any issues concerning a teacher, please first address them with the the district. If you then have an issue with how the district handles (or does not handle) the issue, please send us an email.

We are thrilled with all the good that has come out of the DCS Post and want to thank you all for your support during the first six months. Let us see what the next six will bring.
