Deer Creek Band Helps Peru Family

October 31, 2006

In appreciation for DC Band Director, Roger Gregory’s dedication, DCHS and DCMS band members honored him in a special way. The band collected money and adopted a family in Piura, Peru in Mr. Gregory’s name. Necessities like food, a few goats, chickens, and clothing were purchased and now the family has a roof!

Here are recent photos of the family proudly showing off the new roof. The family has a dirt floors, 4 beds for a family of eight, no glass windows or running water but now a metal roof!

The Montalban family wishes to convey their thanks and tell the band and Mr. Gregory how blessed they are by the generous gifts. Mr. Gregory didn’t get flowers – he brought happiness to others in a beautiful way!

Way to go Antler Pride Band and their Families!

NOTE: This story was submitted by a parent so should be under parent posts but it was just a good example of the good things in our community that we've put it under Antler Points.
