Administration Crossing Professional Boundaries >>

Parent Post

As a professional nurse, I always knew my position with patients, physicians and even hospital administrators. There was never a line that was crossed within the boundaries of patient care. I think some of the problems I've witnessed is the lines are blurred between parent, teacher and principal at DCPV. In particular, a certain teacher, the principal and the parent have become close confidants and this just doesn't set well with me. I truly believe, you cannot be objective with all the student/teacher needs when you have narrowed the scope of input. (from both teachers and parents) So what am I saying....Michelle and this teacher need to separate from the "buddy-buddy" relationship they have with this parent. It's blurring the lines of professionalism. I hate to think that DC has a "good ole boy" attitude when it comes to getting things for our kids. Last and but not least, does Danny/Garva Barnes, Michelle, and the 3rd grade teacher really think that computers are going to solve educational problems for their kids. I had a great education, my husband has a doctorate and I have my masters. This was before computers were even available. What happened to parental involvement with kids and their studies? What happened to, "Turn off the TV until homework's done!!!?" Perhaps they're afraid they'd learn something also. I love that my kids can write a story without the use of Microsoft word...what.....what..what is that about?
