Mr. Talbot,

I wanted to let you know that after visiting with Mr. Cwayna concerning your request to have the school provide a site for a forum for the County Commissioners, we agreed that I should poll the Board to see what their desire might be.  I have talked to three of our five members who have expressed their concern with the school becoming a part of the political process in this way. They would prefer that the school not participate in this election event.

The concern is that they would not want to set any possible scenario for a candidate to feel that the school is giving favorable advantage to the other as our district has had a solid working relationship with the County and would want to continue this work with the Commissioner the community may elect.

You do have the right to complete a facility usage form to formally request the use of a building.  It would then go to the Board at the next meeting for their official consideration.   Let me know if you would like to proceed with this request.  I will be out of the office on vacation beginning tomorrow and will not return until Monday, June 26.  Should you need assistance during that time period, contact Nita Cornforth, our Executive Director and Clerk of the Board, or Mr. Cwayna.
